    Sir Threadius Mongus:

Amalgam Imgigma Records presents the new Sir Threadius Mongus featuring Josh Raymer, Matt Hayes, Michael Staub, Jeff Davis & friends, live on Jan. 14th, 21st, 28th, & Feb. 4th, 2010, 10 pm, at Crystal Pistol, just south of Historic Cain’s Ballroom.

Sir Threadius Mongus returns to Tulsa with new music and a new lineup, and they’re recording the performances for an upcoming AIR release. This is your chance to experience some classic STM fables in addition to a new suite of tunes that causes fits of transendence on & off the dance floor. The ensembles vary and may include Jeff Davis (guitar), Annie Ellicott (vocals), Josh Raymer (drums), Matt Hayes (bass), Michael Staub (tenor saxophone), Zach Elkins (baritone saxophone) & others. The growth of these many fine musicians over the last couple of years has allowed Sir Threadius Mongus to take its sound to a whole new level.

Annie Ellicott, alumnus of two recent AIR productions (This Is Sir Threadius Mongus by Sir Threadius Mongus and New Stone Works by BEN.BEN.), has developed a reputation as a stunning vocalist. Her adventuresome and exploratory voice was recently featured on a new album and tour with Brian Haas of JFJO; more recently she was featured in the debut of Moonbears & Sisterwives –a play by the famed Kansas City saxophonist Mark Southerland.

The rhythm section of Josh Raymer and Matt Hayes, of JFJO, is internationally known and respected.

Michael Staub & Zach Elkins of Gogo Plumbay round out the band with exploratory & rooted saxophone work. Gogo has been making waves around town with a roots-derived, original, and standard repertoire spanning gospel, funk, blues, jazz, and New Orleans flavorings—also featuring Joseph Nigel Frye, Josh Raymer, & Chris Combs.
