Last Saturday, Punch Brothers played at the Walton Arts Center. They were also the center of our most recent contest here on the Flyer.

If you didn’t make it to the show and are kicking yourself for missing a good one, you can at least head over to the Honest Tunes website and check out a whole slew of goodies that KXUA’s Daniel Gold has waiting for you.

Punch Bros. are one of my fave bands. <strong>Thile is one amazing mando picker</strong> and he has really surrounded himself with some fine musicians to create this project. And it really gels too...not just Chris's band with a bunch of backing musicians, but a cohesive band with its own sound. Any idea why Greg Garrison is no longer playing bass with these guys? I saw Nickel Creek a few times at the <strong>Telluride Bluegrass Festival</strong> and they were good. Chris Thile is legit on mandolin. They did a set at TBF with Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket that was fantastic (2001 I believe) :guitar5: Damn, I wish I could’ve heard this live.
