One Response to “Honest Tunes 2-12-2008 Lincoln Memorial Free Somehow Radio Feature”

    Arkansas:

thoughts / review notes by Daniel Gold

Already Fried (Pass On from JB solo) is probably the best song on the album, from a songwriting perspective

That song is PRIME Panic, swamp reggae, instant classic, top notch J.B.

If any John Bell fan doesn’t like this song I would be completely baffled by that. This is the CORE of JB’s style right here, and is arguably the best male voice recording in album-oriented rock’n'roll today. In other words virtually every other singer’s performance on an album in the stores is pale compared to JB’s singing on Free Somehow. Some will disagree and that’s fine, if so then they don’t have the same taste in singers as me. I like singers like Neil, Van, The Band, Otis, JB. Call me crazy.

JB pretty much kicks ass throughout this album IMO, especially Free Somehow, Tickle The Truth, Already Fried… additionally 3 Candles, Walk On The Flood, Angels on High are great New-Panic songs, and have the ring of sounding like Panic with Herring in a good way.
