Encore was a Mardi Gras crossed with Super Tuesday theme for the coinciding presidential primaries (Hillary Clinton, Mike Huckabee, and Cynthia McKinney won in Arkansas this time)
Unfortunately this day also brought a swath of bad weather and tornados across the mid-south, all to the East of us. While we danced to Lotus and skidded across a light snowfall in the Boston Mountains, neighboring areas suffered severe tornado damage in Central, North, and East Arkansas, Tennesee, and on. We wish them the best in the recovery efforts.

Lotus played at nelsons ledges over the past summer, i would love to hear what their opinion of that place was and if they would ever return there soon?
and when could we expect a lotus festival, and where it would possibly be held?

Hey guys. Getting ready to leave from Albany to catch the last two shows down south. With your extensive touring, do you have any plays for the new studio album? If so, do you know what tracks will show up on it? Hopfully Hammerstrike, I love it! See you guys in a few days.

Justin thanks for recommending Hammerstrike, a relatively newer unreleased song from Lotus (dubut in 06). I am checking out the soundboard / audience matrix of 11-23-07 right now. This Lotus live show is free on Archive - sweet. Might even play this live track on the radio show tonite after the interview.

HARPER mentioned that it might be good to ask about,
*a new studio album.
*how Jamcruise was and how they feel about Jam In The Dam; 2 pretty big gigs.
*it’s always cool to hear about musical influences.
*how they maintain sanity on tour.
*show rituals

Andrew (OG) sent a very helpful email suggesting that I ask about things such as:
2006 - toured to promote their April 2006 album: The Strength Of Weak Ties.
Spring and early Fall 2007 toured behind 2007 Escaping Sargasso Sea album.
Later in the Fall 2007 tour, Copy, Paste, Repeat: Lotus Remixed was released and promoted. Since this album has been released, they have only played one song remixed live. Earlier this Winter 2007 tour, they played Bubonic Tonic (Juan Maclean remix).
Some questions and topics you could discuss:
If they plan on playing more songs off the Remixed album. If they do, are they going to do so with the help of the DJ or remixed.
Also, they have been playing some older songs that were shelved for a while. Contagion was just played on 1/27 for the first time in almost 2 years (the 02.17.07 Mr.Smalls show was the last time).
They also played Moss Shoes on 10.06 (for the first time since 2002 or 2003) and then once more on 11.01 at Pearl Street. Since then they have not played this song.
You can inquire if they will be adding more old songs back into the repertoire & how they decide which songs. I believe Moss Shoes was voted back by the fans via an online poll.
They have been covering Bizarre Love Triangle & Rockit, which are both 80’s covers starting at the fall 2007 tour.
In addition to that, they have come out with Bellweather, an original song that has been quite popular thus far. They have also released a couple others like the Bronze Age, 72 hours awake, and I believe in 2008 they debuted: The Age Of Inexperience.

I was watching the web feed from the show you did on the 27th in South Carolina. You brought back Contagion, which had been out of rotation since feb 06. My question is, do you guys rehearse these old songs a little bit, or are they imprinted into your mind so much, you can bust them out anywhere? If so, I recommend busting out Moss Shoes this weekend. You’d make a bunch of people happy.
