Garcia sings these 2 verses of Tough Mama (written by Bob Dylan) on the Honest Tunes podcast after a tremendous saxophone solo by Fierro:
Silver Angel
With the badge of the lonesome road sewed in your sleeve
I’d be grateful if this golden ring you would receive
Today on the countryside it was a-hotter than a crotch
I stood alone upon the ridge and all I did was watch
Sweet Goddess
It must be time to carve another notch
I’m crestfallen
The world of illusion is at my door
I ain’t a-haulin’ any of my lambs to the marketplace anymore
The prison walls are crumblin’, there is no end in sight
I’ve gained some recognition but I lost my appetite
Dark Beauty
Meet me at the border late tonight

A letter from the home page of Martin Fierro, links here. Send your love out. -DG
Dear Fans, Friends and Family,
At this time I would like to let you know that I am about to face one of the biggest challenges of my life. I know that with Gods will, along with your love, support and prayers we will meet this challenge to the end.
Being the kind of person that I am, I have always shared my love, laughter and tears through the music I have played for over 50 years now. Please reflect on that and hold it in your thoughts and prayers for me and my extended family in this time of need.
Love, Martin Fierro
P.S. for those of you who wish to help, more information will be posted here as things develop, so please stay tuned. And don’t forget your Zero underwear.
