The legendary Vince Herman, front man of Leftover Salmon
and a favorite friend of Honest Tunes, is on the road spreading his good time pickin’ and foot stompin’ sounds throughout the Red Dirt region, Spring Break range, March 19-22, 2006 run.
Spring Break at the University of Arkansas starts at the same time, and the Ozarks are in beautiful spring weather. Vince Herman is a favorite guest on KXUA Honest Tunes Radio, having interviewed and DJ’d on the radio station more than 3 times (including one late-night station take-over which we shall not mention here), and he’s known as an advocate of community radio. On stage playing acoustic guitar in front of folks, Vince has performed with the country’s most renowned musicians and this so-called-solo run will be the spring touring highlight. He’s every bit as much a phenomenal musician as he is reknowned radio personality. The Vince Herman concert is a surefire event for bluegrass, new-grass, jam, Cajun, folk, rock, punk, polka and music lovers of all genres, as well as a solid educatin’ on some Americana music history, which is darn-near what he’d play for you if he could spin all his favorite records on the radio.
Vince Herman solo revisits the road with his trademark energized rootsy, folksy, bluesy pickin style. He consistently delivers a unique, lively and powerful performance full of festival spirit, positive energy, witty humor, warm vocals, rich lyrics, and a touched understanding of the human history of playing music for the love of it. Hope to see y’all at the shows.
