Tonight I will play many tracks (majority of the show) from the latest release by Widespread Panic, a remastered official download of 12-31-09, a three set concert featuring some acoustic tracks, break-out cover songs including “Moondance” (Van Morrison) and “Walkin’ After Midnight” (Patsy Cline), tributes to late friends such as “Vacation” (Michael Houser) and several songs of Vic Chesnutt / brute. Tonite’s show will feature a preview of Garaj Mahal. This talented band will be the first big show at the new Greenhouse Grille on their larger stage in Fayetteville, December 19th. Tonite on the radio we will listen to their latest album “Woot”.

Holiday music in the second set, Christmas songs and holiday Honest Tunes including a live set from Big Smith at their annual Christmas show, recorded recently, and some Robert Walter holiday jams. Big Smith returns to George’s Majestic Lounge on Dec. 26.

Do you know how Garaj Mahal got their name? They held a contest on the internet and took suggestions for a good band name. So it is a fan-generated name!
